The Springboks are hosting a braai to raise funds for the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players’ Fund which supports catastrophically injured rugby players.
The Chris Burger Petro Jackson Fund supports catastrophically injured rugby players. They are a non-profit organisation that cares for players who have been injured while playing one of the nations most popular sports.
Currently the organisation is supporting 105 players across the country who have suffered either serious neck, brain or spinal cord injuries that have left them physically or mentally unable to continue with their work, school and daily life without intervention and assistance.
The Springboks have teamed up with BrightRock and the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players’ Fund to host the Play the Bounce Braai. The braai is open to fans that want to raise funds for the cause and enjoy a proper South African braai with the Springbok squad and several former icons of the game.
Along with the opportunity to meet the entire squad, guests will have the chance to go head-to-head in a rugby themed quiz and win awesome memorabilia.
“Attendees will be paired up with the players to bolster their competitive edge. Incredible prizes, include Springbok match-day tickets, team photo opportunities, dinner for 20 people with two former Springboks prepared by a private chef, and signed sport memorabilia.”
The ticket cost covers two people and includes a sponsorship of one young player to attend the training and development day with the Springboks.
The money raised will go towards the training of 50 kids from across Gauteng as well as towards the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players’ Fund, they use the funds for:
“The purchasing of wheelchairs, cushions, special beds, accessibility modifications to homes, medical and rehabilitation assistance and programs to educate the Fund recipients and their families to better help them cope with day to day activities.”
