A viral TikTok has brought South Africans together over a love and longing for their country. Sharing their homesick feels, they have reminded us all just how special our country is and how much is worth fighting for:

Global (15 March 2024) — A viral TikTok post has united South African expats missing home, and reminded those of us that are still here how much we have to be thankful for!

Shared by Brandon Haye, the TikTok video showcases him in the UK against the backdrop of Djo’s song ‘End of Beginning’—a song that has had people all over the internet deeply in their feels as they long for the places and parts of their lives they felt they most belonged.

Although Djo’s hit is about Chicago, Brandon’s post decided that it was actually for South Africa.

He writes:

“This song is for the South Africans who moved away from home to pursue bigger opportunities but deep down wish they didn’t have to leave.”
