The Voces Cordis choir from Stellenbosch has been sharing videos of its latest Christmas concert and we are loving all these classic carols.

Stellenbosch, South Africa (13 December 2022) – The Voces Cordis choir is sharing a few of its stunning performances which were filmed during a recent concert in Cape Town. The performances are of some of our favourite Christmas carols.

VOCES CORDIS (Voices of the Heart) was established in February 2022 by André van der Merwe. The choir consists of 80 choristers from across the Cape Peninsula aged between 18 and 50. André established the group as a continuation of his work with the Stellenbosch University Choir and the Stellenberg Girls Choir.

Many of the Voces Cordis members are alumni of his previous choirs – adults who pursue various professional careers now get a podium to continue their passion for ensemble singing.

Since February, the choir has appeared on national television, performed with Nataniël at the Grand West and was invited to perform at the Woordfees Art Festival in Stellenbosch.

At the Hugo Lambrechts Auditorium in Cape Town, the choir put on a Christmas concert and several of their performances are now being shared online. Silent Night, which we shared earlier this month, has since gone viral as it was sung in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa.

Now they are sharing a few other performances and we are loving them! Below are some of the performances that are worthy of adding to your festive playlist this year! You can find more of the performances on the Facebook page here.
