Zenobia Kloppers becomes one of the very few South African actresses to have two films drop on the same day.

South Africa (16 April 2026) – This Friday, Namibian-South African actress Zenobia Kloppers gets to celebrate what almost never happens in the entertainment industry. She has two films coming out on the same day, on two different streaming platforms.

On Friday, 180 drops on Netflix, where she plays Grace in a South African crime thriller about a reformed gangster whose life falls apart after a violent road rage incident leaves his son critically injured. It’s an emotionally charged, morally complex story, and she’s in good company with a cast that includes Prince Grootboom, Warren Masemola, Noxolo Dlamini, Fana Mokoena, and Desmond Dube, among others.

On Tubi, Hive also arrives. It’s a horror-thriller where she plays Frances, described as a grounded and perceptive presence in a story about a babysitter who starts to suspect something very wrong hidden in plain sight. The film stars Xochitl Gomez (from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) and it leans into an unsettling, reality-bending kind of horror that gets under your skin.

Two completely different films, portraying two completely different characters, on Friday!

Zenobia is Namibian-born and raised in South Africa. She trained as both an actress and a classically trained soprano at UCT and Stellenbosch University. On screen she’s known for her emotionally grounded, vocally assured presence.

You’ll recognise her from Fiela se Kind, where she made her breakout performance as Fiela Komoetie, which earned her Best Actress nominations at the SAFTAs, the Africa Movie Academy Awards, and the Silwerskerm Film Festival. She also scooped a win at the SA Independent Film Festival for that role.

More recently she appeared in Die Kantoor, Showmax’s South African adaptation of The Office, and Finding Optel. Last year she made her international TV debut in Season 3 of The Wheel of Time on Prime Video. She’s had roles in Spinners, Unseen on Netflix, and Recipes for Love and Murder.

Kloppers has been building a career behind the camera as a director, too. Her short film Riel, which she also co-wrote, premiered at the Durban International Film Festival, received an Africa Movie Academy Award nomination, and won Best Short Film at the SA Independent Film Festival. In France it picked up an award at the Pierre Cardin Short Film Festival. A second short, Helmhart, premiered at Silwerskerm and was nominated for Best Screenplay.

“To be part of two international film releases on the same day is something I don’t take for granted. I value the opportunity to keep growing and exploring as an actor, and to work alongside such committed cast and crew on both projects. I look forward to audiences experiencing these stories.” says Klopper on the rare double-premiere. “This moment feels both surreal and deeply meaningful. Each role asked something different of me, and it speaks to the kind of work I’m passionate about — stories that challenge, stretch, and connect across different audiences and genres. I’m deeply grateful to the creative teams who trusted me with these roles.”

180 on Netflix and HIVE on Tubi. Both out this Friday, 17 April. Go support her!
