From a rainy highway to the warmth of a shelter, this little pup’s rescue is just one of many acts of kindness.
South Africa (07 August 2025) – On a cold and rainy day, a small puppy was spotted alone on a busy freeway, drenched in rain, trembling, and covered in sand. Likely after desperately trying to find shelter wherever she could. It was a heartbreaking sight, a reminder of how vulnerable animals can be when left to fend for themselves.
Thankfully, help arrived just in time. The little pup was safely rescued and taken to the shelter, where she was given the care and comfort she desperately needed. She was bathed, warmed up, and dressed in a cosy jumper from With Love from Themba. After an experience like that, it usually takes time to open up. It was no different this time around. However, by being taken care of and looked after, she finally opened up. After the stress and exhaustion of her ordeal, she curled up and slept the day away, finally safe and comforted.
Her story is just one of many that reflect the incredible work done by the shelter team. This rescue is not an isolated act of kindness; it is part of what they do every single day. From abandoned kittens and stray dogs to neglected animals in need of medical attention, the team dedicates their time and resources to giving vulnerable animals a second chance at life.
