A soul-stirring moment as community members enchant patrons and staff at a shopping centre in Gauteng with a heartwarming version of How Great is Our God.

Gauteng, South Africa (19 July 2021) – The community’s stirring rendition of a gospel song brought joy to workers and patrons of a South African shopping centre.

Heart-warming footage thereof has emerged, and it now seems like social media users can’t get enough of it.

The video, posted on Facebook, shows patrons and the planners in a circle in the middle of the Glen Shopping Centre, Gauteng.

The video received more than one million views and nearly 17,000 shares.

They sang an ad-hoc version of Chris Tomlin’s song ‘How Great is our God’.  In the middle of the coterie were people playing stringed instruments, singers and dancers to boot.

“We have lived through a tumultuous time last week. Amidst everything, people feel overwhelmed and uncertain.  On Sunday, 18 July 2021, also the day we commemorate Nelson Mandela, community members approached The Glen and requested permission to pull the community together through song in the centre,” Prianka Singh, part of the Centre management, said to us.

“The Glen was more than happy to assist the community and proud to be a part of the initiative,” Singh added.
