After a fire destroyed the home of Tshwane SPCA Inspector Controller Cynthia, leaving her to care for her young baby and rebuild her life from scratch, a local “angel” named Jane Wingfield stepped in to help.
Tshwane, South Africa (22 August 2025) – It always warms the heart to witness everyday South Africans showing up for one another, especially in times of need.
Tshwane SPCA Inspector Controller, Cynthia, experienced this compassion firsthand after her home was recently destroyed in a fire.
When the news of her plight was shared locally, a real-life angel, Jane Wingfield, swept in to show her support and kindness in the form of generously donated clothing and homeware items.
According to the SPCA, Cynthia has lost almost everything and is now in the process of rebuilding her life from scratch while caring for her young baby.
Jane’s gift offers a glimmer of hope, a sense of direction, and a tangible start for the hardworking advocate for animal welfare and loving new mom trying to pick up the pieces.
“In the midst of such a devastating loss, acts of compassion like yours, Jane, bring hope, comfort, and a reminder that there is still so much goodness in the world. You truly are a star, and we are deeply grateful for your support,” the SPCA shared.
Further appeals for donations are extended to the Tshwane community to assist in any way, whether it’s through donations of clothing, household items, building supplies, or other essentials.
“Your help would make an incredible difference during this difficult time. Every contribution, big or small, will go a long way in helping Cynthia get back on her feet. Thank you for opening your hearts.”
