A Facebook group has gone above and beyond to help a cleaner get back to her career as a caregiver. Its a Cinderella story of cleaner to caregiver.
Facebook groups have created opportunities for users to share good news and create a useful way for members to access opportunities or to help others do so, we often get to share those stories with you, our reader. Facebook user Marissa von Hoesslin did exactly that.
After a recent stay at the Netcare Hospital in Rosebank Marissa met a woman that made her stay rather bareable. Marissa met clinic cleaner Gracie Sibanda and it changed her!
“During my recent stay at Netcare Rosebank hospital, I have had the pleasure of meeting this kind soul. She walks into the ward and is such a ray of sunshine.”
“Gracie is currently a cleaner at Rosebank clinic. She has a beautiful family to support but this current job doesn’t do her skills any justice. She is kind and compassionate and anyone in her care would be well looked after.”
Marissa was moved by this beautiful soul and her story. Gracie is qualified as a carer, she used to care for the late Joost van der Westhuizen. Marissa felt that someone as caring and compassionate as Gracie should not be wasting her skills as a cleaner and should be working in the field where her passion lays and where she could make the most difference.
“Gracie used to come into my room, she was always just so amazing. She would walk into my room with the biggest smile on her face, just so positive”
“She was always just so helpful. She would always help me put on my slip-slops”
So Marissa took to Facebook to ask if anyone had any jobs available that would be suitable to Gracie’s skill set.
The response was phenomenal and many people came forward with information. From the post Gracie has set up a few interviews and an agency for carer’s has offered her a spot on their database.
“I just feel like Gracie has so much potential and there are so many other things she could do”
“Especially as she is that caring and compassionate, she is happy to help with whatever”
This is a wonderful example of how one simple post can change the life of a person. We are happy to report on positive stories like this one and wish Gracie the best with her future career.
