Durban Donation

Dedani Mabhunu Mkhize stopped all operations on his farm to collect 2600 veg items, he then took them to Durban to support the families that lost everything.

The Durban storm and floods changed the lives of thousands of people across South Africa. Firstly its affected the people who were hit by the storm, its affected the lives of the people who have stepped up to become heroes and lastly it has become a topic of inspiration for everyone else that wasn’t directly affected.

Over the last week, we have shared many stories about how people have stepped up and helped others. Recently on Facebook, Vuma Soros shared an inspiring story about a Pietermaritzburg farmer, Dedani Mabhunu Mkhize, who stopped his farm operations to collect spinach and cabbage for the families that lost everything.

This post has been shared over 800 times with over 2000 reactions and 200 comments. People have been commending Dedani for his selfless and generous donation. Others helped by clearing their cupboards to give clothing and blankets as well.

Not all heroes wear capes. Yesterday was a heartwarming day DedaniMabhunu Mkhize stopped all operations in his farm, packed 1300 bunches of spinach and 1300 cabbages. Used his own truck and diesel all the way from PMB to Durban and he ensured that families who lost everything will have some food in their stomachs.

Big shout out to the big brother Nco Dube for initiating this. Be blessed brother. And a big thank you to everybody who took time to browse through their wardrobes and give those old blankets and clothing. They will go to very grateful people.
