Ntsika Jikeka is a talented young footballer who is training with Spain’s Malaga FC, a dream come true for any aspiring athlete.
Free State, South Africa (08 August 2024) – New Horizon College learner Ntsika Jikeka from Harrismith has jetted off to Spain this week. The talented young footballer will be training with the renowned Spanish club, Malaga FC, as part of a select team.
The team will be training with the 1st team coaches and academy players at the club.
New Horizon College principal described Ntsika, who plays left winger for the U13 football team, as a lovely boy who performs as well in the classroom as on the sports field.
The Good Things Guy also connected with Ntsika’s coach Neo Losaba who shared that Ntsika was scouted when the NHC U11 and U13 teams travelled to Rustenburg for the Jaru Sports soccer tournament which took place on the weekend of the 17-19 of May 2024.
“He is currently travelling with the Blue Runnings Sport International. The team is currently playing in Spain and is made up of learners from different schools.
“The team is being hosted by Malaga FC in Spain and is working with the academy coaches. The team is in Spain from 4 to 11 August 2024,” said Losaba.
Losaba expressed pride in Ntsika’s development as a young soccer player and shared that he wished more learners would go abroad to further their talents in games of soccer.
Next year, the college’s teams will travel to the Jaru Sports tournament again in the hopes of having more of its talented players scouted and afforded the opportunity to travel abroad.
“NHC is looking to develop the talent of the learners at the school in the hope of getting them a step closer to the professional game,” Losaba added.
