SA photographer hand selected by Tyra Banks for Magazine Cover shoot!

Tyra Banks found him on Instagram and four months later the South African photographer was on a plane to Hollywood to capture her for the cover of an International magazine!

An eye for the unusual, a passion to explore avenues less travelled, and the desire to create images that resonate with emotion, are what drives this South African photographer.

Justin Dingwall is a successful commercial photographer and contemporary artist. Having exhibited both locally and internationally.

“I do what I do for the love of new experiences. My imagery is not bound by language or culture. I want my work to speak for itself and for people to interpret it in their own way. I want people to be affected by my images… As long as someone is feeling something, I am achieving my goals.”

In June 2018, Tyra Banks – supermodel, actress and media mogul – started following him on Instagram. In September she posted his work on her own Instagram page, stating that Justin was one of her new favourite photographers and a creative to watch.

One month later and he was on a plane to Hollywood….

Tyra was the new cover star for Remix magazine for their 100th edition and put the talented South African forward as her preferred photographer.

Remix Magazine is a quarterly fashion magazine established in November 1997 in New Zealand and now distributed around the world. The content is predominantly fashion, beauty, pop culture and entertainment conveyed through original editorial and photography.

Justin landed the job and shared the amazing story on his Instagram.

“It was absolutely incredible to photograph such a talented and amazing person. The cover launched yesterday and I couldn’t be more excited. It was fantastic working with the editor Steven from Remix magazine, who gave me the creative freedom to really craft this portrait.”
