After a difficult relapse, “Super Jace” continues to fight leukaemia with incredible strength. Fuelled by the generosity of South Africans, this four-year-old boy is receiving the life-saving treatments he needs, turning hope into a powerful weapon in his courageous battle.

Krugersdorp, South Africa (19 September 2025) – Four-year-old Jace has been fighting a rare form of leukaemia with incredible courage. The young warrior recently faced a devastating relapse when the cancer returned in both his spinal fluid and bone marrow.

According to his family, Jace now needs urgent immunotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, and ongoing treatments to give him the best chance of recovery.

Through a well-supported crowdfunding campaign launched by Jean-Pierre Hilse, Jace continues to face each day with bravery that far belies his age.

He’s been able to receive some rounds of immunotherapy, and in August, Jace had a lumbar puncture with chemo into his spinal fluid, which helped clear it of cancer cells!

“We now focus on his bone marrow, while praying it stays clear,” said Jean-Pierre.

The road ahead is still long and filled with both planned and unforeseen medical expenses.

The estimated cost of treatment, procedures, and necessary care above medical aid contribution is said to be around R1 million.

“Every cent raised will go directly towards Jace’s treatment and recovery. The treatment and transplant is planned to take place over three months, and we have to act fast to give him the best fighting chance,” Jean-Pierre said.

As Jace fights back, his family appeals to South Africans to help give their young warrior the fighting chance he deserves.

“Your donation, no matter how small, will bring us closer to saving our little superhero.”
