Clayden Botes is a talented teen artist on the Autism spectrum whose creativity has captured South Africa. Now, thanks to an opportunity that’ll see him become a documentary star, his story has the chance to be told to the world!

South Africa (04 February 2025) — Just a few years ago, neurodivergent artist Clayden Botes was new to sharing his artwork online. As someone on the spectrum, art had become not only the teenager’s passion but also his comfort and a space where he could be himself unapologetically and fully.

Encouraged and supported by his mother, Antoinette, ‘Clayden’s Designs’ would grow to become far more than a digital art gallery of sorts or a means to support Clayden’s craft. It became a place of encouragement for others on the spectrum and a powerful example of what can happen when people are allowed to lean into what they’re best at.

Clayden’s business has blossomed impressively throughout the years, now reaching a hugely exciting intersection thanks to the opportunity to have a documentary made about him.

“I was contacted a few weeks ago by [an] organisation based in California helping Neurodiverse individuals to get more exposure, to do a documentary about me,” an exciting post from Clayden’s Designs shared.

The post goes on to explain that there was a waiting list with over 700 people in the running for their opportunities and that the founder and CEO of the unnamed organisation is said to be a big deal in the silver-screen world.

With production set to kickstart this month, we wait with bated breath to see it and celebrate Clayden upon its completion.

“I’m truly excited for my future,” the artist shared. “Hard work definitely pays off and it does help to dream big and reach for the stars.”
