Last week, we shared the incredible news that Jada Lubbe had been accepted into a groundbreaking clinical trial for Vanishing White Matter Disease – a rare condition that affects just 300 people worldwide. The challenge? Getting her there. The Jada Foundation turned to PledgePal, a brand-new crowdfunding platform, hoping to raise R150,000 for medical travel costs.
And today, we have the best update yet!
Not only has the fundraising target been reached, but it’s been exceeded! South Africans came together in a massive way, proving once again that when it comes to lifting each other up, we don’t just show up—we go all in.
For 13 years, Jada’s family searched for answers, facing a diagnosis that felt impossibly rare and overwhelmingly uncertain. But when news of a clinical trial surfaced, hope turned into action.

With all the hope in my heart, I am beyond grateful to announce that Jada has been accepted into a clinical trial for a groundbreaking treatment that has already shown incredible results.
On either March 12 or March 19, we will be boarding a plane to change Jada’s life.”
