Obama Foundation Fellow

Koketso Moeti was chosen to become an Obama Foundation Fellow out of more than 20 000 applicants from 191 countries. She is one of a mere 20 to be selected.

Koketso is a social activist and executive director of Amandla.mobi. The mobile app helps bring people together for important causes. They fight for social justice and hope to bring the democracy together through every mobile device.

Being accepted into the Obama Foundation as one of 20 fellows will be a massive benefit to Koketso and the Amandla.mobi because she will have the opportunity connect with other activists around the world.

The programme is a two-year all-expenses-paid opportunity. It aims to connect activists and drive positive change within their communities.

“This is a good opportunity I believe there is so much to learn from what’s going on globally” – Koketso Moeti

Koketso went up against 20,000 people from across the globe to secure her spot. This is a massive achievement and proves that what she has to offer South Africa and the world, is something life changing!

“For us any kind of support is about growing this community, finding ways to plug Amandla.mobi into more resources to make strategic connections.”

The Obama Foundations mission is to inspire and empower people to change their world.

From leaders who are already making an impact, to people who are interested in becoming more involved, but don’t know where to start, our goal is to make our programs accessible to anyone, anywhere. We’ll equip civic innovators, young leaders, and everyday citizens with the skills and tools they need to create change in their communities.

Well done Keketso, you make South Africans proud and we know you will make an even bigger change in SA with this phenomenal opportunity. You can find out more about Amandla.mobi here.
