Nkosi, the Rugby Guy’s dream, became a reality when he got to join Vincent Tshituka for the run-out at the start of the Sharks game this past weekend.

South Africa (19 February 2025) – In one of the most heartwarming moments in rugby, Nkosi “the Rugby Guy” Mnikazi had a major dream come true over the weekend. He joined Vincent Tshikaya Tshituka in the tunnel and got to run out onto the field as the Sharks took on the Bulls.

Nkosi is a massive rugby fan and creates content on Instagram under the name “Nkosi the Rugby Guy“. Over the past year, he has had the chance to attend several games, starting with his favourite, the Lions, then the Bulls and now the chance of a lifetime, spending time with the Sharks. It is evident that his love for the game is greater than any one team; getting the chance to be at the games, no matter the team, is a great honour. We so hope to see him at many more games (hint, hint Bokke!!!).

What makes the moment so amazing is that Nkosi has been working hard to run out onto the field. With the help of physiotherapy, leg braces, and, at times, a walking aid, he has been building his strength to not only walk with ease in his everyday life but also to take part in his favourite sport. As he shares on his social media, the only disability in life is a bad attitude.

On his social media pages, Nkosi has been sharing all his training moments and motivational speeches. Nkosi spends his time encouraging fellow rugby fans to head out and watch the games live in the stadium, hoping to drum up support for the teams in South Africa. After all, full stadiums with cheering fans make a huge difference to team morale.

Aside from his love for rugby, Nkosi became an ambassador last year for the Trojans Neurological Trust (TNT), which is a charity that works to raise funds for individuals with neurological conditions to get the therapy and care that they need. He helped the team push through the Ride 947 cycle race; being pulled in a cart, he kept the team’s morale high. Causes that care for children with illness are close to his heart.

For the Sharks game, Nkosi joined the Lambano Sanctuary, which offers support to children fighting illnesses. They shared how much he loved the game and the chance to meet the team. Let’s not forget his time on the field!

“From the roar of the crowd to standing alongside his rugby heroes, Nkosi embraced every moment with pride, excitement, and a heart full of dreams. Seeing him lead the team out at Loftus Versfeld was a powerful reminder that passion and determination start young!

Keep dreaming big, Nkosi this is only the beginning!”
