kilimanjaro sweet 16 summit

Sehera Bisnath is planning to summit Kilimanjaro in order to raise R 1.6 million to go towards helping her fellow teens gain access to sanitary wear

Sehera is an amazing young lady instead of throwing a party, she will be using her sweet 16 to raise awareness about young girls that do not have access to sanitary wear. She believes that it is a basic human right to have access to sanitary wear, not a luxury!

“I am going to summit Mount Kilimanjaro for my 16th birthday for an amazing non profit organisation called Dignity Dreams”

Her plan is to summit Kilimanjaro for her sweet 16th which is on the 18th of July 2017. The money raised will go to the non-profit organisation ‘Dignity Dreams’, which helps provide sanitary wear to girls that cannot afford it and helps educate them on menstrual health and hygiene.

“This climb is dedicated to create an awareness for menstrual health and raise funds for fellow young girls who require access to sanitary wear.”

“I am humbled by this opportunity and grateful for the support from my family, friends, the awesome team joining me on this quest and the team, behind the scenes, making it all possible!”

Sehera has been offered support by the Nelson Mandela fund, Yase Godlo will be a speaker for the cause as well as endorse the entire campaign.

As part of the campaign to raise the funds, Sehera is willing to help people at fundraisers and give presentations to companies, family and friends. The R 1.6 million will help build up 6,400 sanitary care bags for Dignity Dreams. The bags are distributed to girls in need.

“Dignity Dreams provides women and girls in need with re-usable, SABS Absorbency Approved sanitary wear which lasts up to three and a half years. We believe that sanitary pads should not be a luxury and every girl deserves to manage her menstrual cycle hygienically, in privacy and with confidence!”

We are very excited to hear how well this campaign does, if you are wanting to donate to the cause you can have a look at the Sweet 16 Summit Facebook page here.
