‘Kindness like Confetti’ run various projects that support young girls, women, the elderly and the youth. Their programmes are phenomenal and make a massive impact on the lives of those involved.
You know how confetti gets everywhere, stuck to everything and you seem to find it months after it was used? Well, that’s the perfect analogy for kindness. Kindness should be everywhere, stuck on every person and found long after it was dispensed. While actual confetti isn’t great for the environment, kindness is great for everyone and everything.
A group called ‘Kindness like Confetti’ (KLC), based in Linden Gauteng, spreads kindness far and wide! They recently launched their May project, which is to collect well-loved blankets and soup donations for the coming winter.
“Until 23 May, we are collecting tinned, packet soup or instant soup and new or pre-loved blankets of all sizes.

The donations support a variety of projects that the group runs.
‘KLC is a registered non-profit organisation based in Linden, Johannesburg. We run four main projects – collecting and distributing sanitary products with the aim of keeping girls in school, a feeding scheme at an old aged home, a knitting project called The Joseph Jersey Project for children in need and Project Uplift where we collect new and gently used bras for women who can’t afford their own. In addition to these projects, we run monthly projects in the spirit of kindness which target community needs.’
The group recently served a Mother’s Day lunch at their chosen old aged home and gifted the women there, scarves and other lovely gifts. For Valentine’s Day, they gave out slabs of chocolate. Their aim is to make people feel loved and acknowledged through small acts of kindness.
