A charity high tea hosted by Home of Hope has been a massive success and will go a long way in the care they offer children and adults with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

Table View, South Africa (22 August 2023) – Wearing their best florals and hats, women from all walks of life joined the Home of Hope for a high tea event that aimed to raise funds for their cause. The event was such a success, they managed to raise an astounding R55,000 in just one morning.

Home of Hope is a registered non-profit organisation that cares for abandoned, abused and neglected children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) which is permanent brain damage as a result of prenatal exposure to alcohol.

The team managed to pull off an exquisite event thanks to a variety of sponsors. From modern decor to prizes and auction items to name a few. Every element of the day was done in honour of the children who work hard to overcome FASD and how it affects their lives.

The home takes in children and teens, offering them a safe haven to grow up as well as the tools needed to combat any challenges they may face due to having FASD.

The home goes beyond just being a roof over these children’s heads but becomes the family support they need for the good and the bad stuff. If a child show promise in a skill or subject, the home helps them embrace that, much like the teen who found a talent for painting while staying at Home of Hope.

Home of Hope plans to do more of these events to help continue the great work they are doing for the children within their community.
