Taxify driver got a surprise third passenger while en route to a hospital drop-off!

The Taxify driver helped get the new mom, dad and baby to the hospital and then stayed with them to make sure the entire family were okay.

Pretoria, South Africa – When Beauty Zhou went into labour at 3am on Boxing Day while at her husband Andrias’s employer for a Christmas celebration, they had no transport to take them to hospital.

Andrias’s employer turned to Taxify for help to get them there quickly.

Taxify driver Bonus Ngwenya collected the couple in less than five minutes, making a quick stop at their house to fetch Beauty’s clinic card and hospital bag. While on the way to the hospital, her water broke on the R55 and following a quick labour, Bonus realised that he’d welcomed a third passenger to the ride.

“I wanted to stop and help but Andrias insisted that I continue driving because they would never forgive themselves should anything happen to the baby,” said Bonus.

“Before I knew it, there were four of us in the car!”

Once 3.5kg baby Anesha made her surprise appearance, Bonus quickly closed all the windows to keep her warm, and then drove carefully to Laudium Hospital, where she and Beauty received post-natal care.

Bonus waited with Andrias until 6am while mother and baby were examined by doctors, to make sure that they were both ok.

“Bonus truly was a Christmas blessing for us,” says Andrias.

“Even though my wife was screaming and complaining while she was in labour, Bonus was professional and helpful with no complaints. Thank you Bonus for helping us.”
