A lot can change in a year. For Lehlohonolo, her days were consumed by endless job applications and a fight for survival. Today? She’s stepped into her dream job and is proof that generational curses can certainly be broken.

Pretoria, South Africa (09 February 2026) – We love a good “answered prayer moment”, and Lehlohonolo Masombuka shared hers in a wholesome post that has left us and her audience with a renewed sense of hope.

In a heartfelt post, she reflected on a time just one year ago when she was stuck in an endless cycle of unemployment and editing her CV – until one application finally changed everything!

“Today, I am signing my housing allowance papers, going through my appointment letter, and reading about leave days, bonuses, medical aid, and benefits. I honestly still cannot believe that this is my reality, considering all the struggles I went through last year and throughout my life,” Lehlohonolo shares.

Lehlohonolo is the first in her family to go to university, graduate, hold an honours degree and secure what she describes as a “real, stable job”– a pivotal moment of breaking more generational curses for her and her loved ones.

“Just last year, I was hustling relentlessly to make money to pay for my honours fees. I studied on credit, and I am deeply grateful for that opportunity from the University of Pretoria,” she reflects.

Lehlohonolo put in the work and raised the funds to pay off her R50,000 tuition fees just before graduation. She says that during that time, working hard and surviving had become her main focus for each day.

However, that wasn’t her destiny.

“God had a bigger plan. While I was focused on surviving, He was preparing my dream job, one that would allow me to pay off my debts and finally start building the life I have always dreamed of.

“Today, I stand as a living testimony that hard work truly pays off. Putting God first in everything, trusting Him, and walking by faith is never in vain. It always bears fruit, even when the journey feels heavy and unfair,” Lehlohonolo attests.

As she signs her contracts and embarks on the biggest first step of her career as a Pedagogical Practitioner, she hopes others will be inspired to keep going even when hard times persist.

“Fix your eyes on your goals. Do not ever give up. I know it is hard, I truly know. But once the Lord opens that one door, there is no going back.”
