The TEARS Animal Welfare has welcomed the installation of a new surgical theatre thanks to the donation from MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet.

Cape Town, South Africa (27 October 2021) – TEARS Animal Rescue has benefitted greatly from the support of the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme since they signed up. Each month their supporters help provide financial aid by merely swiping their cards at local retailers.

Recently the MySchool team donated an amount of R183 000 which was used for renovating an existing veterinary consulting room to make a second surgical theatre. The second is to be used for orthopaedics and sterilisations.

MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet has also gone the extra mile by kitting out this new theatre with all the veterinary equipment required.

“This second theatre will allow us to help so many more animals, from all of us at TEARS and on behalf of the animals we will be helping, we thank you MySchool.”

This isn’t the first time the programme has gone above and beyond to support animal welfare. Just this year they donated R100,000 to the Bloemfontein Animal Rescue Centre.

To support TEARS and its efforts, join MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet and select TEARS Animal Rescue as your beneficiary. Then, simply visit myschool.co.za or download the app. Every time you shop at one of their retail partners, including Woolworths, Engen, Loot.co.za, Bidvest, Waltons, Builders and more, a portion of your spend will be given to a school or cause of your choice – at no additional cost to you.
