Do you know someone who needs a wheelchair? The wheels of fortune have turned for Tops and Tags after years of work, now needs help finding people who need wheelchairs; instead of the other way around!

South Africa (03 August, 2023) — Over the years, Good Things Guy has had the pleasure of sharing many success stories à la Tops and Tags. From little heroes to friends who teamed up, the project has seen many bottle tops and bread tags go to the best cause—gifting wheelchairs to those who need them. But, the wheels of fortune have turned in a wonderful way for T&T who now have a surplus of wheelchairs instead of a surplus of people in need.

“9 years ago I had people needing wheelchairs that I couldn’t help, had to turn them down. Now I have wheelchairs and can’t find people,” shared Lynne CrawCour reflecting on how far the project has come.

This year, 32 wheelchairs have bettered the lives of others thanks to Tops and Tags. The next mission? Finding people who need wheelchairs!

If you know someone who needs the wheels of fortune turned in their favour (someone who needs a wheelchair), contact Tops and Tags via their social media or by writing to them via their website (part of Sweethearts Foundation).

How Tops and Tags Works

  • By collecting enough plastic bottle tops or bread tags, you can help gift someone a wheelchair.
  • When you’ve collected enough kgs of bottle tops or tags, you can help make one of the most important differences in the lives of both children and adults.
  • 450kgs of bottle tops or 50kgs of bread tags equates to 1 standard adult wheelchair.
