Kronendal Music Academy’s pupil supervisor Kamva Maxesibe isn’t just sitting on his hands and hoping for the best. He’s going many extra miles for the charity that brings music education to children in need by tackling the Cape Town Cycle Tour as a fundraiser!

Hout Bay, South Africa (28 February 2025) — Kronendal Music Academy’s pupil supervisor Kamva Maxesibe isn’t just going the extra mile for the charity—he’s going the full distance at the upcoming Cape Town Cycle Tour.

Set to tackle 109kms, Kamva plans to cycle for his charity and help bring their dream to true fruition.

A Dream 18 Years in the Making

Earlier this year, the music education charity shared the exciting news that a dream they’d had for 18 years had finally come true—they’d acquired their ‘forever home’ at long last.

“It is anticipated that this property will make so many things possible, and also generate income—encouraging visits from tourists, and participation from the greater Hout Bay community,” the team said.

But, there is still a distance to go until the dream’s full realisation. This distance speaks to preparing the space and undertaking renovations—all of which are no small mountain for a charity to clim. Or in this case, to cycle.

Kamva hopes to bridge the gap between dream and reality somewhere along his big cycle. He is raising funds for the Kroendal Music Academy’s renovations, which (once complete) will benefit both students and the Hout Bay community.

Beyond the music school and possible performance theatre, pockets of space are intended to transform into community hubs where people can flourish, including a workshop and gardens with sellable produce.

You can support Kamva’s ride here, using the reference ‘Ride’, and don’t forget to cheer him on along the Cycle Tour on 9 March!
