The Proteas Women’s all-rounder gives fans a fun look inside her match-day backpack, packed with cricket gear, recovery essentials and a few surprises.

South Africa (05 May 2026) – Proteas Women all-rounder Nadine de Klerk gave fans a fun peek behind the curtain in a light-hearted “What’s in the bag?” feature, and her backpack turned out to be a mix of cricket essentials, comfort items, and a few unexpected quirks that say a lot about life on tour.

Right from the start, Nadine de Klerk made it clear her bag is more than just kit storage. It’s also routine and a little bit of personality.

One of the standout items was a well-travelled word search book, which has quietly become something of a team favourite. Each completed page comes with signatures from teammates who’ve joined in, turning it into a growing scrapbook of shared moments.

From there, her bag reveals a mix of everyday must-haves: lip balm she says she can’t go anywhere without, earphones for long bus rides, sunglasses, and a steady supply of gum and sprays.

Then comes the cricket-specific gear. Compression socks feature heavily in her setup, used for bowling and recovery, with Nadine explaining that they’re all about supporting blood flow and helping her recover after long days on the field.

If she had to keep just one item, the answer came quickly: the word search book.

From recovery socks to quiet bus-ride entertainment, Nadine’s bag reflects the life of a modern cricketer. It’s structured, practical and still full of small personal touches that keep things grounded while on tour.
