Johannesburg, South Africa (09 September 2026) – A spare ticket to a football match turned into an unexpectedly special day for a young boy after content creator Joshua Rubin met him outside FNB Stadium.
Josh, a documentary filmmaker and content creator who explores different sides of South Africa and beyond, was heading into the stadium when he came across Lebo outside, collecting cans.
After striking up a conversation, Josh learned that Lebo collects cans and exchanges them, and that he lives with his 18-year-old sister, who helps look after him. With an extra ticket to the match, he decided to invite Lebo along.
The young football fan was soon making his way into the stadium, with Josh jokingly reminding him not to get lost as they headed inside.
There was hot chocolate and plenty of food. When Josh later asked Lebo whether he had enjoyed himself, the answer was an enthusiastic yes.
The simple interaction captured a wholesome moment between two people who had met by chance outside the stadium, with a spare ticket turning an ordinary day into one Lebo is unlikely to forget.
