Edu-Paw, together with Amanzimtoti SPCA, hosted a group of children and adults to spread awareness and speak about the crime of hunting with dogs and related animal cruelty matters in their mission to foster a generation of responsible pet owners and animal advocates.
Amanzimtoti, South Africa (30 October 2024) – Nurturing young minds and hearts, Edu-Paw and Amanzimtoti SPCA educate local children about responsible pet ownership and the cruelty of animal abuse through their interactive Saturday classes.
These classes offer invaluable education to children who may otherwise be exposed to the harsh realities of animal abuse. By shedding light on the pain and suffering inflicted upon animals, these young learners get to develop a deep-rooted empathy that will shape their future actions.
In a recent class, SPCA Inspectors Luke and Delani addressed the critical issue of the crime of hunting with dogs.
To make sure this important message reached as many people as possible, Edu-Paw also extended the invite to adults from surrounding communities.
“Luke explained that hunting with dogs is illegal and encouraged everyone to report any such activity to the SPCA.
“The session was interactive, with Luke and Delani answering questions from the group,” Edu-Paw said.
The day continued with the children being educated about the brutal crime of dog fighting.
With Diwali and the festive season coming up, children also got to learn about the risks fireworks pose to animals, as well as the vital role that the SPCA plays in preventing cruelty to animals.
By equipping children with knowledge and empathy, these organisations are sowing the seeds of change, one compassionate heart at a time.
