Watch: Charlize Theron teaches Seth Rogan some Afrikaans

Seth Rogan and Charlize Theron recently featured in a movie together, as part of their press tour they took a lie detector test for Vanity Fair and its very funny.

Hollywood, United States – Charlize and Seth have starred in a film together and are on a press tour to promote the new film. In it, Charlize plays a United States Presidential candidate who employs a journalist, played by Seth, to be her speechwriter. Seth then realises that Charlize was his babysitter when he was younger and his crush on her resurfaces. They find love and a little chaos during the campaign.

The movie is a romantic comedy, and the pair make for great co-stars. As part of their press tour to promote the film, they visited Vanity Fair who made them each take a lie detector test.

Seth went first and answered questions from Charlize then they switched, and Seth had to ask her questions. He had a whole bunch of South African related questions for her.

He asked her about her American accent, wanting to know if it was fake; if she just used a fake one every day instead of her real accent. To which she replied no, that she learned American English. He then asked her what the most South African thing she could say was. She asked for some clarity, whether he wanted something Afrikaans or South African because as we know from our recent accent articles, there is a difference.

Seth turned to the lie detector technician and asked if what she said was the most South African thing. He nodded which spurred Charlize to question how the lie detector test would even dispute her answer.

They then move on to speaking Afrikaans and hearing Seth say “Afrikaans” made us cringe a little. He asked Charlize to say something about him in Afrikaans.

She calls him “oulik” meaning cute or nice and says he is “baie snaaks” meaning very funny, that he is one of the funniest people she knows. Seth turned to the technician and asked “Do I snaaks?” to which he responds “That’s right, you do snaaks”.

He goes on to ask several more questions, and Charlize aces the lie detector test. Take a look at their test below. We have taken the liberty of sharing the video from Charlize’s segment, but you can always click to the start of the video if you would like to watch Seth’s portion as well.
