Collie fetch

Eight-year-old Border Collie Hurley was on a walk with his dad when he spotted someone new to play fetch with, only they wouldn’t play fetch with him.

Hurley got his feelings hurt by a statue, well, he didn’t know it was a statue. Hurley is a border collie from Liverpool and he was with his dad Adam Shore at Crosby Beach. The beach is famous for its ‘Another Place’ sculptures by Sir Antony Gormley. The sculpture is a life size nude replica of Sir Antony.

At first, people found the sculptures offensive due to their detailed nude nature but it has since they became a perminant fixture on the beach in 2007, the area has seen a boom in tourism.

Crosby Beach is 4 km long and features 100 of these cast iron sculptures. As the tides ebb and flow, the figures are, respectively, revealed and submerged by the sea.

Adam and Hurley were walking along when the collie decided to appoach the statue to play fetch. He just couldn’t understand why this human-like figure wasn’t playing along with him.

He refused to give up and continued to ask the statue to throw the ball. Adam thought this was too funny to miss and started filming the one-sided interaction.
