Danish Choir Chilli

It starts out innocently enough. The Herning Boys Choir is singing ‘Oh Come, All Ye Faithful’, when their cheeks suddenly flush red, tears stream down their face.

A Danish comedian and musician who goes by the name “Chili Klaus” gave a boys choir in his hometown a very hot pepper to eat while they sang Christmas carols.

Klaus is a well known celebrity in Denmark who regularly invites celebrities and musicians to taste hot chili peppers during interviews and performances. Being that he was a choir boy in his youth, he decided to spice up the traditional Christmas carol with a super hot ghost pepper.

The choir got to choose from an assortment of peppers which ranged from mild heat to extreme heat (ghost peppers).

The ghost pepper is the “bad boy” of the chili world and one of the world’s hottest, weighing in from 855,000 Scoville heat units to an eye-popping 1,041,427 SHU!

For some of the boys in the choir, the pepper’s heat hits them early. For others, they bravely carry on, singing through the entire song without flinching. It makes for an unconventional performance, and you certainly can forgive them all for not waiting around for the applause!

They eat the Chillis at 1:24 but it all goes pear at around 1:27.
