Noah Baier, a tourist from Germany, took some time to take isiXhosa classes at the University of Cape Town so he could easily travel through South Africa – The people he spoke to, love it!
Cape Town, South Africa (17 November 2022) – South Africa is a melting pot of culture and language. Officially we have eleven languages, but mostly, everyone speaks English in the day-to-day of life. One German man decided he wanted to learn an African language to better communicate with people, so he took isiXhosa classes at the University of Cape Town.
Noah Baier comes from Germany and wanted to really immerse himself in South Africa, to do that he went beyond just arriving and having a holiday, he learned a language and learned to use it properly.
In South Africa, if you take the time to learn about a person’s culture, food, and language, you fill them with pride and joy. South Africans really do love to share and when given the chance, they will share all the things they love.
Embracing local culture is a sign of respect and seeing the reactions of all the people who spoke with Noah, you can see why tourists love South Africa so much! We are a kind and generous people, even beyond the language barriers.
