In 2017, Stellenbosch Choir was ranked as number one in the world. Their talent never ceases to amaze us and more recently John Legend could probably say the same!

The Stellenbosch University Choir was founded in 1936 under the baton of William Morris. After him, various conductors established the ensemble as an influential South African choir. With an ensemble of approximately 80 – 100 voices only a few of the students in the group actually study music!

The University Choir is one of the most celebrated in South Africa with various awards from around the world.

A Joburg based Twitter Account tweeted a video of the Stellenbosch Choir performing John Legends song “All of Me”. The singer dedicated the song to his wife and is an extremely popular love song. It has been covered millions of times but the Stellenbosch Choir’s rendition will give you goosebumps. You can watch the video in the tweet below.

The Tweet became incredibly popular and John Legend himself saw the video. He quickly responded to the tweet, calling the performance “Beautiful!”. This is an amazing compliment for the choir considering it came directly from the artist himself.

However, it is no surprise that he was wowed by their performance. The choir has had great success and one of their videos went viral and hit 1-million views. We are incredibly proud of the South African Choir and it is one of many phenomenal ones within the country.
