The principal of De Villiers Primer Skool has gone viral for all the right reasons, proving he’s both the head educator and the school’s coolest parent!

Oudtshoorn, South Africa (08 December 2025) – Most schools wrapped up the academic year this week, but man, did they spread good vibes on our timelines at any given chance!

From charitable acts and heartfelt farewells to hilarious pranks, South African schools are treasures of academic achievement and human connection.

De Villiers Primer Skool in Bridgton, Oudtshoorn, recently shared a heartwarming video of its beloved principal, Mr Josephs, taking a break from his office to have some fun with his pupils.

The footage shows him reliving his youth as he danced wholeheartedly, surrounded by the excited youngsters who cheered and hyped him as he moved through a tunnel they created.

The moment radiates joy and highlights the positive influence educators have on youngsters both inside and outside the classroom.

The video has garnered over one million views on Facebook, receiving wonderful comments from viewers and former pupils who praised Mr Josephs, highlighting his parental role towards the pupils of De Villiers Primere.

“Sir, you’re born for this. It’s your calling,” wrote Lesley Mhlanga.

“The principal who is the parent at the same time,” commented Nkosinathi Mkhwanazi.

Another user, Montimpana Motimpana, shared similar sentiments:

“This kind of principal who is parent to child-centred, is the best, whereby, should the learner experience any challenge, including bullying, the learner will not hesitate to report to the authorities/principal. Well done, principal, for creating a friendly atmosphere at your school. Keep up the good work.”

As the video continues to attract praise across the internet, it beautifully captures the truth that a little fun and empathy are just as vital to a thriving school environment as academic achievement!
