The wooden pallet is a wonder in the DIY world, and one single mom has left upcycling fans in awe of how she used pallets to build a deck for her blowup spa.

Global (23 May 2022) – Sandy Cendrine, a single mom of two, has left DIYers in awe of her determination to build a peaceful and tranquil spa in her new home. She worked hard to make her dream of a safe space a reality, and we cannot get enough!

Sandy left an abusive relationship and bought herself a home to call her own. She had dreamed of a backyard spa area (in South Africa, we call them Jacuzzi even if they are not from that specific brand). So she started planning to turn a corner of her garden into the spa area of her dreams.

Sandy did what every hopeful DIYer does; she scoured the internet for plans and ideas. She also joined the Upcycleit group on Facebook.

“We are one of the world’s largest earth-friendly creative social media groups. We are all about educating and advocating for reuse of existing resources so as to minimise waste to landfill. Enjoy amazing earth-friendly creativity from artisans and upcyclers from all around the world.” – Upcycleit

Sandy shared with the group that she is doing the renovations to her home all by herself. Her spa was a dream, and the next on her to-do list is the fence that will enclose the space, so her two little children are safe around the water source.

Take a look at how she turned a bland corner in her home into something we all dream of! She shows that when you put your mind to something and dedicate all your free time to it, you can make anything possible.
