The ultimate staycation! South African travel blogger is going viral globally for her hilarious stay-at-home travel photos!
Cape Town, South Africa (02 January 2021) – So what exactly does a travel blogger do in the middle of a lockdown… when travelling was put on hold for most of 2020?
Well, for Sharon Waugh – founder of a travel humour blog called The Sharonicles – it was the perfect time to start practising travel poses! In her mind, it was the perfect way for a travel-obsessed person to cope with lockdown and the current globe-trotting restrictions.
“Lockdown has been tough, but I believe I have coped with it in the same way as just about every other travel-obsessed extrovert: Aside from practising my Instagram travel poses, I have consumed loads of carbs mostly from the comfort of my living-room-couch-cushion-fort, as one does.
Since then, I have been sharing my own attempts to recreate the lockdown version clichéd travel Instagram pictures on my account. Here are some of the best results.”
Little did she know that mainstream media outlets worldwide found her Instagram and have been sharing the hilarious posts! Waugh has been featured in BoredPanda, Australia 7 News, Insider.com, the Daily Mail and the Times of India!
And when you see the photos, you’ll understand why! Check out some of our favourites below, or click here to visit her Instagram.
