If the Backstreet Boys coming to South Africa wasn’t enough, you’ll want to hold onto your iPods for this one. Westlife is coming to South Africa!

South Africa (9 May, 2023)—Someone call the Mi7 National Group, because we’re going to need another iconic video dedicated to Westlife.

Anyone who listened to music in the early 2000s will know that boyband Westlife had their fair share of a chokehold on pop culture during the Y2K era.

The era belonged to many pop culture heights: Britney Spears, Destiny’s Child, Lil Wayne, layering skirts over jeans, Ross and Rachel woes and all things boyband.

Of course, you can’t consider the boyband era of the 21st century without Westlife. The group earned MTV Awards, a World Music Award, Brit Awards and a place on many people’s bedroom walls in poster form (not to mention iPod space).

If you needed a refresher to remind you what a bop their music was, just play ‘When You’re Looking Like That’, ‘UpTown Girl’ or ‘Swear It Again’, and we guarantee you’ll go on a musical journey back in time.

Now, the Irish group is set to come to SA as part of their Wild Dreams Tour where they’ll perform in Pretoria and Cape Town.

Their first stop is Cape Town, where they’ll perform on 1 November at GrandWest’s Grand Arena. They’ll head to Pretoria on 3 November to light up Time Square’s Sunbet Arena.

While tickets aren’t on sale just yet, they will be as of 12 May(Friday).

If the Backstreet Boys hype is anything to go by, Westlife fans will want to act quickly on securing tickets.

P.S! BIG Concerts shares:

“Fans are strongly advised against purchasing tickets from Viagogo. These tickets are unlawfully resold by deceitful sellers for multiple times the face value and are not legitimate tickets. Should you purchase these tickets you will be denied entry into the venue and you will not be entitled to a refund.”
