New Material, the sequel to the box office ‘Material,’ will be released on 15 October starring the popular comedian Riaad Moosa.

South Africa (19 August 2021) – The movie ‘Material’ captured the hearts of many people, with its balanced scenes between heartwarming and outright funny. Riaad Moosa played the role of Cassim Kaif, effectively showing the emotions of a man in the areas of marriage, parental situations, and going after his choice of career amidst the reluctant acceptance of his father, Ebrahim (Vincent).

The sequel will be continued with light-hearted jokes and the emotional turns of life as Cassim goes after his career.

Cassim goes after his dream of being a comedian, mainly performing to Johannesburg Muslim audiences, yet he yearns to expand his audience further throughout the nation.

The sequel follows a national tour planned by his best friend, Yusuf (Joey Rasdien) but it doesn’t prove to be the solution either. The term is filled with problems from a pertinacious sponsor (Rajesh Gopie) who expects too much from Cassim, pushing him to make tough decisions when international opportunities present themselves. It would seem like that is precisely what  Cassim wanted but is it or is it not?

Zakeeya Patel, Denise Newman, Kurt Schoonraad, and the famous media personality Shashi Naidoo are some other actors who star in this movie.

Craig Freimond is the director of this movie. He has also won the Golden Horn Award for Best Achievement in Directing in a Feature Film for ‘Material’ in 2013. A writer and director for film, television, and theatre, Craig is famously known for ‘Gums and Noses’ (2014), ‘Jozi’ (2010), ‘Material’ (2012), and ‘Beyond the River‘ (2017).

After the box office hit of ‘Material,’ this movie has high expectations among the viewers, which will hopefully be fulfilled on 15 October when ‘New material’ hits the theatre.
