Instead of a speeding ticket, two women got compliments when a traffic officer pulled them over just to admire their car.

KwaZulu Natal, South Africa (01 September 2025)-  Best pullover ever? In KwaZulu-Natal, two women on the road had an unexpected encounter when a traffic officer pulled them over, but not for the usual reasons.

Normally, being stopped by traffic police comes with a number of reasons. You ask yourself questions like: Was I speeding? Is my license disc expired? Am I about to get a ticket? But this time, none of that applied.

Instead, the officer was simply so impressed by the sleek ride they were driving that he wanted to get a closer look. He asked to see under the hood, admired the engine, and even praised the vehicle’s interior design. Turning what might have been a stressful moment into a lighthearted exchange.

The clip shared online show the officer inspecting the car with enthusiasm, pointing out details on the windshield and complimenting its finish. The women laughed at the situation, noting how unusual it was: “Now when we get pulled over, we think we’re in trouble but actually, the police just liked the look of the car so much.”

The moment has sparked amusement, with many noting how rare it is to be stopped on the road for good reasons rather than bad.

Moments like this remind us that in South Africa, traffic stops don’t  always have to be about fines or warnings. Sometimes, they are simply about connection a brief, friendly exchange that leaves everyone smiling.

There is  a certain privilege in being able to share these lighthearted encounters with traffic officers. They reflect the curiosity and a uniquely South African ability to find warmth and humanity in everyday situations.
