The Good Things Guy poddie has been telling South Africa’s best stories for more than 12 years but the move to video has opened an exciting new chapter. With 71 video episodes already released since the beginning of 2025, there’s never been a better time to press play.
Johannesburg, South Africa (29 July 2026) – Podcasting has changed dramatically over the past decade but one thing has remained the same… people will always make time for stories that leave them feeling a little hopeful and a little more connected.
That belief is what started the Good Things Guy poddie more than 12 years ago and it is still the reason we keep pressing record.
What began in 2014, long before podcasts became part of everyday listening in South Africa, has grown into the country’s longest-running good news podcast. The journey has taken me (and now the team) from CliffCentral to Jacaranda FM, where we launched the first podcast on Jacpod, before becoming fully independent through Good Things Guy. Then, at the beginning of 2025, we entered an exciting new chapter by adding video, giving viewers the chance to not only hear the conversations but experience them too.
Since making that move, “Good Things with Brent Lindeque” has released 71 video episodes (which you can still find in audio-only), with 29 of those arriving in 2026 alone. Thanks to BetterBond coming on board as our headline sponsor and Primedia Studios becoming our filming home, the poddie has continued to grow while staying true to the thing that matters most: sharing conversations that inspire while reminding us all of the incredible people shaping South Africa every single day.
In the past 2 years alone, we’ve sat down with remarkable guests including astronaut candidate Dr Adriana Marais, comedy legend Barry Hilton, broadcaster Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp, Dakar Rally finisher Joey Evans, musician Kurt Darren, investigative journalist Mandy Wiener, internationally acclaimed flautist Wouter Kellerman and storytellers like Nick Hamman, each bringing their own perspective. Whether the conversation explores overcoming impossible odds, building meaningful careers, creating music that crosses continents or finding humour through life’s challenges, every episode carries the same thread… real people sharing authentic stories that remind us why good news deserves a platform.
The move to video has also opened the door for even more people to discover the poddie, whether they prefer watching on YouTube, listening on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, or catching highlights across social media. However you choose to tune in, there is now a growing library of conversations waiting to inspire your next walk, commute, coffee break or evening on the couch.
