When bright sparks are also bookworms! Judah has won an award at school for reading 44 books in two months.
Durban, South Africa (31 July 2026) – Today’s little readers are tomorrow’s greatest leaders!
The Narainasamy family is beaming with pride over their little one – Judah, who is only 7-years-old – after he won an award at school for reading over 40 books! The school, Durban Christian Centre School, honoured Judah with its esteemed Benny the Bookworm award, which he received with the biggest smile.

Judah’s parents say he has been a keen reader since his toddler years.
“Judah has shown an interest in reading since the age of 3 and grasped the fundamentals of reading by age 4. With practice, he was reading fluently for his age by 5, turning 6.”
The award was given to Judah after he reached the milestone of reading 44 books in his second term of school, over a period of roughly two months.
“Judah is an ambitious and hardworking boy – once he has his sights set on a goal, he challenges himself to achieve it. This makes us proud, because he is a determined young man. We’re proud of him no matter what, but he loves to be the best that he can be,” his parents tell us.
The little bookworm says his favourite book is a Bible story – Heyo, by Minno Kids.
Books, in the hands of bright young minds, unlock a world of potential. If he’s only seven and already winning awards for reading, imagine what he’ll accomplish in the future! Well done, Judah!
