The Tygerberg Animal Hospital has the only animal blood bank in the Western Cape and they are once again raising awareness to recruit new donors.
Tygerberg, South Africa (04 October 2021) – Tygerberg Animal Hospital has a special blood bank for dogs, and they are asking for dog owners to help them get their stock up. We first shared their plea for donors in July this year but now they are raising even more awareness to help save lives!
We always knew dogs were heroes, but we never imagined that they could become heroes for their fellow dogs. We often speak about blood donations and other forms of saving lives here on the website, such as bone marrow and organ donation. Learning that dogs are also eligible to donate, was such a heartwarming surprise.
The Tygerberg Animal Hospital is the only animal blood bank in the Western Cape. Not only do they accept canine donors, they have also shared they welcome feline donors too!
