The Animal Welfare Helderberg held a raffle to give away a beautifully made cake and the winner donated it to the hardworking staff at the shelter.
Gordon’s Bay, South Africa (16 September 2022) – The Animal Welfare Helderberg recently held a fundraising raffle and the prize was a beautifully made cake. They have been running low on funds and running a few raffles in the hopes of covering some of the costs.
The raffle tickets went for R20 each and a winner was chosen on the 9th of September but chose to remain anonymous and instead, asked the Animal Welfare Helderberg to gift it to the team of kennel workers at the shelter.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that entered our cake raffle to support us. We appreciate it so much! A huge thank you to Lyndsay from Lulubelkes Bakes for the most beautiful and delicious cake! An anonymous winner donated it to our kennel carers who thoroughly enjoyed it today! Thank you so much” – Animal Welfare Helderberg
The team were so excited to have the cake, a great treat for all the work done.
The Animal Welfare Helderberg cares for animals in need in the Gordon’s Bay area. There are 26 paid staff members and a small team of volunteers who help with the exercising of the dogs and running of the charity shop. They also run a mobile clinic that visits the outlying communities in need.
“The AWS Helderberg has a mobile clinic operating in Macassar, Eerste river, Tarentaal Plaas, Nomzamo and Sir Lowry’s Pass. At these clinics the dogs are dipped against ticks and fleas, are dewormed, inoculated, given mange injections and the owners given advice. Stray animals are fetched and taken to the kennels where the AWS Helderberg endeavors to re-home them.”
The work the team does is incredible, you can follow them via Facebook here to find out more.
