The Grace Factory set out to put together 1,500 maternity packs across three cities in one day, and thanks to the power of collective good, the charity exceeded its ambitious Mandela Day goal!
Johannesburg, South Africa (30 July 2025) – Amazing things happen when the drive to do good takes root in the hearts of those eager to act and further inspire others to join in on the cause, too.
A few months back, The Grace Factory set out to achieve one of its most ambitious goals yet in its continued efforts to support new mommies and babies in need.
The goal: To put together 1,500 maternity packs in one day across three cities for Mandela Day.
The result: A resounding success!
These maternity packs were filled with essentials like diapers, baby clothes, wet wipes, sanitary pads and baby toiletries. It is these very basic hygiene items that will bring dignity and comfort to mothers and tiny tots who need them most.

The large-scale event, held on 19 July at the Johannesburg, Hillcrest and Vanderbijlpark branches, brought together individuals, organisations, and communities to celebrate the spirit of giving and service, positively impacting over a thousand lives in one day.
“Thanks to the incredible support we received, we exceeded our goal with a total of 1,725 maternity packs across our three branches,” exclaims an elated Sarah Cressey of The Grace Factory.
“There is so much that has been going on behind the scenes, and we are truly grateful to each and every sponsor, donor and volunteer who continues to support our cause and make this big goal possible.”

The Grace Factory is a registered non-profit organisation supporting mothers and babies in need across South Africa. Teams of volunteers work closely with public hospitals, clinics, social workers, and community organisations that share their vision of long-term empowerment for women and children.
