Metallica use a portion of their world tour ticket sales to support the charities in the areas where they perform, and recently donated enough for a new hospital!!!
Global – Metallica are currently touring the world and at each stop, they are doing some incredible acts of kindness for charities in need. Their most recent performance was in Romania and they donated funds to pay for a children’s hospital.
The band donated €250,000.00 towards the country’s first pediatric oncology and radiotherapy hospital which will be equipped with the latest medical technology.
“The donation made by Metallica has a special meaning to our project … their music inspires and touches so many Romanians, and at the same time, so many Romanians are inspired by and contribute to the establishing of the first Pediatric Oncology and Radiotherapy Hospital in Romania, in order to give children with cancer a chance to live.” – Carmen Uscatu, President of Daruieste Viata (Give Life) Association
They have donated so much in the last year, filling the shelves of food banks, bought lunches for children, helped children with cancer and so much more.
The band use a portion of their ticket sales and make a donation in each place they perform. The more tickets sold, the bigger the donation they can make.
It just goes to show that while the band may be heavy metal, and seen as hardcore, they have soft hearts and are more willing than most to do something good for others.
While they have yet to announce a return to South Africa, fans have been begging for them to return once again. Their last concert in South Africa was back in 2013, hopefully their next tour brings them here for some feel-good deeds.
Fans, @Mastercard, and @Metallica have made a special donation to Daruieste Viata (The Give Life Association) supporting the #NoiFacemUnSpital initiative, building the first Pediatric Oncology and Radiotherapy Hospital in Romania. #MetInBucharest #MetallicaGivesBack #AWMH pic.twitter.com/vD07ePwWTk
