With her enthralling moves and captivating voice, South African music sensation Tyla has been entertaining audiences across the globe and recently claimed the prestigious International Achievement Award at the South African Music Awards.
Johannesburg, South Africa (06 November 2024) – South African music sensation Tyla has been riding the wave of music showbiz and international acclaim all year, and it just keeps getting better!
The pop singer was recently honoured at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) on Saturday, bagging not one but four awards, including the coveted International Achievement Award.
This recognition solidifies the Water hitmaker’s status as a global artist and a proud ambassador of South African music – a personal dream for Tyla come true.
Her other deserving awards bagged from the glitzy yellow-carpet event included the Ukhozi FM Female Artist of the Year, SANTAM Newcomer of the Year and Best Pop Album for her self-titled debut album, Tyla.
Though unable to attend the awards ceremony in person due to a music video shoot, Tyla expressed her heartfelt gratitude in a video message:
“Thank you for another one guys. Thank you so much. I’m so sad I couldn’t be there. It honestly means the world. I’ve always wanted to win a SAMA, not lying. Thank you guys. Love you South Africa. Love you my Tygas.”
