The NSPCA has just launched a new campaign to change the way they fund looking after South Africa’s animals in need. They call it “A Million Voices” but we call it “A Million Possibilities”.
Imagine a million people donated just R1 a month to a charity very much in need. Imagine that R1 a month was your contribution to over R12 million a year, and all it cost you was just R12. Imagine the possibilities!
For over 60 years, The National Council of SPCA’s (NSPCA) has been preventing cruelty, promoting kindness and alleviating the suffering of animals in South Africa with an objective to serve and protect ALL animals, to uplift their welfare and to ensure that the protection they have under South African law is upheld and respected.

The NSPCA movement collectively undertakes over 90% of all animal welfare investigations and prosecutions in South Africa.
The lives of tens of thousands of animals are improved because of their passion, their intervention, and their commitment to bring about long-term positive change for farmed animals, wildlife, research animals, domestics and animals used in entertainment and sport and most of all of their funding comes from sponsors or donations.
In just the past few months the NSPCA have made headlines for sending dog fighters to prison, laying charges against young men clubbing seals, flying animals around the country to save them and braving deep land fills to save dogs but the sad reality is that even though they are constantly doing their best to protect our animals, they are not as well supported as they could be.
They recently re-looked at how South Africans donate to charities and decided to create a campaign that would make it simpler to give, while creating a long term funding model.
A Million Voices
The NSPCA created “A Million Voices” knowing that not everyone can donate hundreds of Rands but every single Rand adds up to something so much bigger.

The new platform allows individuals and businesses to choose ANY amount they want to donate, on an ongoing basis. You could literally donate just R1 a month and be contributing to a million Rand donation pool. The platform has set up various tiers and allow you to make an annual payment to assist their cause.
