The Ballito youngster has collected national and provincial titles, earned his First Dan Black Belt and is now preparing to compete on the international stage in Italy.
Balito, South Africa (10 June 2026) – At just nine years old, Dominic Judge has already achieved more than many athletes dream of in a lifetime.
The Ballito youngster has built an impressive reputation in South African taekwondo, collecting national and provincial titles while balancing school, training and the everyday life of a young boy with big ambitions. Now, his hard work has earned him an opportunity to represent South Africa at the European Taekwondo Championships in Italy later this year.
Dominic’s journey began before he turned four. What started as a childhood activity quickly developed into a passion, with his commitment and discipline helping him stand out among his peers.
In 2024, Dominic claimed five national titles, winning gold in every category he entered. He followed that up with another dominant performance at the 2025 National Championships, securing four more gold medals.
Earlier this year, he added four provincial gold medals at the KwaZulu-Natal Championships, earning the title of four-time provincial champion. Among almost 200 competitors across all age groups, Dominic finished ranked second overall.
His dedication was further recognised when he earned his First Dan Black Belt at just eight years old. The upcoming championships in Italy represent another major step in that journey. It is an opportunity for Dominic to test himself against international competition while proudly representing South Africa on the global stage.
Before Italy, however, there is another challenge awaiting. Dominic has also been selected to represent KwaZulu-Natal at the upcoming National Championships in Pretoria later this month.
