Footage of Christina Aguilera performing live with a hologram of Whitney Houston has been shared online.

The performance was scheduled to air on The Voice’s season 10 finale later this month, but has now been axed by the Whitney Houston Estate.

Pat Houston, executor of the estate, said they were looking to deliver a ground breaking duet performance for the fans of both artists. Holograms are new technology that take time to perfect, and they believe with artists of this iconic caliber, it must be perfect.

“Whitney’s legacy and her devoted fans deserve perfection. After closely viewing the performance, we decided the hologram was not ready to air.”

And while her team weren’t happy with Whitney’s hologram, they did praise Christina’s “absolutely flawless” performance, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a new and improved version at some point in the future.
