Rebecca Seziba – the little girl who went viral while playing a “public piano” in December – has just been offered to collaborate with an incredibly talented international artist!
Western Cape, South Africa (15 January 2023) – Remember the little girl who went viral while playing a public piano in a South African shopping centre, well she’s just been offered a collaboration with an incredibly talented UK pianist.
Rebecca Seziba went viral in December 2022 after Rudi Smith spotted the young lady at Table Bay Mall and shared the video on his Facebook. The clip has garnered over a million views and hundreds of comments of people left “moved” by her piano-playing skills.
The video was shared by thousands of people, eventually landing on Rahul Suntah’s screen, who immediately tracked her down to offer to collaborate with her.
“Wow, Rebecca is amazing. I am excited to collaborate with her,” he said with excitement.
“As you can imagine, people send us music all the time. It is wonderful when we see something really special.”
Rahul is a classical pianist from Mauritius but is now based in the UK. His distinguishing characteristic is that he uses the inside of the piano to create unique sounds that enhance his performances.
Rebecca, who is just nine years old and completely self-taught, said, “I feel happy and excited to work with Rahul, who is based in the UK and is truly brilliant,” after hearing the news.
“My parents encourage me to be self-motivated and believe in myself. I believe nothing is impossible.”
