Cape Town, South Africa (14 December 2023) — Trainee Inspector Lindo Mbele from the Cape of Good Hope SPCA was up to heroic antics again after a small pooch found itself in a wall of trouble when curious adventuring took a turn for the trapped.
While it may have been the young pup’s first time in turmoil, it wasn’t Lindo’s first time playing hero. In case you missed it, Lindo was the same trainee inspector who braved a towering tree barefoot to rescue a kitten in Belgravia.
According to the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, the puppy had been exploring his surroundings and took wonder wall a little too literally—straight into a bathroom wall’s opening.
While the puppy cried out for help, his owner initially thought his pup was stuck behind the bathtub. After desperately dismantling the tub, the owner came to find the pooch in a far more difficult predicament.
The Cape of Good Hope SPCA were called with great urgency, and soon Lindo was on the case.
The trainee inspector investigated the wall’s glimmer of an opening to find a way to the pup, but it was no easy fetch; especially because the puppy’s cries had gone cold.
Calling on backup, a Fire and Rescue team joined the rescue mission. They chipped at the wall for as long as they could until they could see the puppy, and then chipped further so that he could eventually find his way out.
“It was heartening to see the compassion and care with which Fire and Rescue worked,” shared the animal heroes who commended the team for going above and beyond for an animal in distress.
Eventually, trainee inspector Lindo was able to check the pup for injuries and made sure the little one got a much-needed drink of water.
